Defining relation
n = m / M
Entity bridge
Amount
Entity count
Entity count is linked through the exact SI Avogadro constant. The entity type still has to be stated for the number to be chemically meaningful.

Scientific boundary
Mass mode treats the entered sample mass as the mass of the stated substance and does not apply purity, hydration, mixture or assay corrections.
Solution mode assumes the stated amount concentration is uniform and the entered volume belongs to that same solution state.
The workspace does not infer chemical identity or molar mass from a formula. Formula-based molar mass remains the responsibility of the separately sourced Molar Mass Explorer.
Amount of substance alone does not establish reaction extent, equilibrium position, thermodynamic feasibility or experimental yield.
