Measurement
Select atoms
Select two atoms. Distance is calculated from active PDB coordinates in Å.
Parsed coordinate state
Paste valid ATOM/HETATM records to inspect coordinate state.
Format source
Worldwide Protein Data Bank (wwPDB) / RCSB PDB
PDB File Format ATOM/HETATM coordinate records. ATOM/HETATM x/y/z are orthogonal coordinates in Å; column 17 is the alternate-location indicator and columns 55–60 carry occupancy.
Scientific boundary
This v1 parser promotes ATOM/HETATM record identity, Cartesian coordinates, altLoc, and occupancy into STEMORIA state.
It does not automatically choose a conformer from occupancy. Conformer choice remains explicit. Residue chemistry, connectivity, secondary structure, biological assembly, and crystallographic transformations are not inferred here.
